Sahodara - A superyacht concept with a rotating deck

Sahodara is a 92-meter superyacht concept with a twist. The concept is designed by Jorge Jabor Pinheiro with two owners in mind (in this case two brothers) with equal stake in the ownership of the yacht. The superyacht concept is designed to enable two master cabins at each end of the deck to receive the same forward-facing panoramic views when rotated. The yacht will have space for 12 guests including her owners and 27 crew. The owner’s deck includes two master suites at each end of the deck and is able to rotate so that either end can face forward.

“It is mainly a wish of the two owner’s that each room is capable of having a forward view of the ocean while on board,” explains Pinheiro. “Besides, the rotation gives the whole yacht two different profiles, making it a very intriguing feature.” Pinheiro further clarifies that the top deck would only turn one way to complete the 180-degree swivel and the operation could only be achieved when docked or traveling at low speeds.

“I should probably add that it's not a 360-degree rotation device, it only rotates to about 200-something degrees and back.”

Both the exterior and interior of Sahodara yacht display asymmetric design inspired by layered architecture and topography models creating a ripple-like effect. And, the megayacht is powered with two Rolls-Royce mermaid engines to reach a maximum speed of 20 knots and a cruising speed of 16 knots.
