S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Desk by Dror with built-in iPad dock and speakers
Multidisciplinary design firm Studio Dror has now teamed up with the car maker Acura to create a limited edition desk dubbed the S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent. The desk draws inspiration from the automaker's role in Thor, the new movie starring Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman and Anthony Hopkins. In the movie, the agents of the S.H.I.E.L.D. intelligence and security organization of the Marvel Universe are seen driving the Acura TL, MDX, ZDX and RL models. It was fun to project myself as an S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent and to shift the approach when designing this desk for Acura, as if I was going to be user 001. It's a stimulating part of the design process.
The bold yet beautiful desk has a graphite and light wood base, Acura TL's chassis inspired finish, secret drawers and compartments, an iPhone/iPad docking station and hidden Bose speakers. The S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Desk, with its perfect mix of form and functionality, highlights the spirit of Dror’ work and that of Acura.
