Even after all these years, things related to Steve McQueen seemed to have its charm on buyers, especially those enthusiastic about the auto sector. We had earlier seen the 1963 Ferrari Luso go under the hammer, and now it’s a special edition Steve McQueen Bonnelville motorbike, which will be released in 2012, in a limited edition run of just 1100 bikes.

Steve McQueen featured the similar style of bike in his movie, the Great Escape, and since then the style seemed to have caught up with his fans. The Triumph Trophy TR6 has only been now rechristened with a few additions, maintaining the rest of the original design as it is, to recreate the charm once again. Featuring the matt military green body, the solo seat and luggage rack, much of it remains the same, but the since this is a modern day limited edition run, each of the bikes will have a numbered plaque, and also a signature of Steve on the bike’s chassis. The ‘Triumph’ branding is also shown on the fuel tank, to set the 2-wheeler apart from the rest. A certificate of authenticity will also be a part of the package, which the lucky bidders will get to boast.

However, we would request enthusiasts to wait till November 2011, when the EICMA trade show in Milan shall take place. Would have plenty more details then.
