The Buonaparte by Döttling - An 18th century safe restored to exude magnificence
German luxury safe maker Döttling, the maker of Karl Lagerfeld-designed Narcissus safe and the new Colosimo, has earlier put ‘The Skeleton’ back to life for its $341,326 antique luxury safe project. This time, the German house has unveiled a 200-year-old restored luxury safe dubbed ‘The Buonaparte’. The specialists at Döttling think that this safe was built at the end of the 18th century in Italy. The eye-catching ornamentation exhibits remarkable similarity to the Papal Tiara, the three-tiered jeweled papal crown. The three tiers of the papal crown are symbolically integrated.

The Buonaparte safe also boasts a secret trick mechanism, which the team discovered in the final stages of the project. The secret compartment opens only after the three hidden buttons are pressed simultaneously. Döttling says that they believe the new safe to be a monumental example of Italian locksmiths’ art from more than 200 years.
The safe has been restored by hand, and has been equipped for the next 200 years. The stunning masterpiece is sure to impress the most discerning watch collectors.
