Tag Heuer, a name on the list of every connoisseur of timepieces,

Tag Heuer Link Smartphone
Tag Heuer Link Smartphone

has introduced its second smartphone known as the Link smartphone.

Talking the original designing and styling cues of the brand, and building on

the preceding Meriidist, the handset comes with a strong aura of ruggedness,

combined with technology and high visual appeal, along with exclusivity in its

structure.

Unlike other phones with a premium price tag, this one is

known to be comparatively more water resistant, air-sealed, and immune to

taking shocks on its surface, especially the front panel, which is created with

the help of rugged gorilla glass. The casing of the phone gets its durability

and finish from the use of three metals for making its body, which includes 18K

rose gold, industrial grade titanium, and stainless steel. Other options for enhancing

the finish include the Black PVD (for the black and gold color option), rubber,

calfskin, alligator, or lizard leather. Technology wise, there is nothing

holding the phone back. Equipped with a 16 million color touchscreen, 256 MB of

RAM, and an 8 GB memory card, this phone has an external crown, similar to the

Ulysse Nardin Hybrid smartphone, which gives access to the sim card holder,

memory card and charging port. To give a smooth operating experience, the Android

2.2 version has been used as the operating system. Those who prefer taking pictures

on the move can use the 5 megapixel camera at the back of phone to click away

with ease. For acquiring this handset,

one would need in excess of $6750, not including the charges for further customization.

When one takes a step back to look at Tag Heuer’s previous

adventure with cell-phone technology, the Meriidist handset, the Link

smartphone has indeed taken strides ahead to live up to the brand name’s

reputation for using cutting technology apart from distinct styling cues.

Whether it is the operating system, camera, use of touchscreen interface, or

even the overall shock-proof body, the Meriidist wasn’t always in the good books of

the technology aficionados.

For those who have a liking for design, other examples

include the World’s first mechanical smartphone that had exclusivity with

abstract design and structure, and the "Midas touched" Mobiado 105 GMT handset,

that was a "perfect marriage" of a timepiece, a mobile handset and limited

edition designer jeweler. Though both of them could have could have an edge

over the Tag Heuer Link handset in terms of the styling quotient, in terms

of technology and inside electronics, this smartphone is indeed a step ahead.
