Tribute to Honor: Royal Salute creates rare blended scotch
Royal Salute, the Scotch Whiskey maker known for its exotic and rare blends, had created a blended whiskey brew that none other than the master blender Colin Scott has tasted it yet! Keeping in view its niche consumers, this limited edition, rare blend shall be made available in exquisitely handcrafted bottles which would be hand-crafted by the finest of craftsmen.

The blend in question, Tribute of Honor has been created to pay tribute to the oldest of royal jewels in the British Isles, known as the Honors of Scotland. The history surrounding these jewels is known in the form of legends and tales of tremendous adventure in Scotland’s history. Hence, master blender Colin Scott has selected whiskies from the archive of Royal Salute, which have similar characteristics in terms of flavors and intensity of taste. This archive has typically been known to have whiskies which have been matured for a minimum of 45 years, and has been sought after by many master blenders from around the world.
As the master blender Colin Scott puts it,
Chivas Brothers has a phenomenal archive of high-aged whiskies, some of which, after decades of careful maturation, have acquired a rich intensity and deep concentration of sumptuous characters. It is these very few whiskies which I have personally selected to compose Tribute To Honour – this opulent and rarest of blends. One out of the 21 rare whiskey bottles will be kept in the vault of Chivas Regal. These bottles will be handcrafted from black porcelain and decorated with 413 white and black diamonds. The outer collar which will be made from gold and silver will have the engraving of Sword of State, one of the main crown jewels of Scotland from 22 carat gemstones. Lions have shown to be seated on either side of the sword which marks the valiancy and patriotism with which previous wars have been fought by the Scottish monarchy. The price tag for each of these bottles reads $200,000 which doesn’t include taxes. The jeweler who would be crafting these bottles has served six British monarchs in succession.
Our previous coverage of rare Scotch whiskies includes World’s most expensive scotch and the limited edition Johnnie Walker whiskey sale. So, it’s time that the Scotch connoisseurs have a thing to run for!
