Turning Lamp doubles as PC with four faces

Naveen Kumar / Jan 8 2008

Concept gadgets are always great as they don't need to think of all the mundane stuff. Designed by Seungchan Lee, Turning Lamp is an inimitable thing that also functions as a PC. It's actually a PC mounted on a lamp base. The nicely designed thing makes use of tactile interfaces people are familiar with when turning lamps on, so a pull of a cord activates one of the four faces. Each face of the Turning Lamp could display something different say weather, news, email, or a music player. Above everything, it works wirelessly and comes with a fold out touchscreen keyboard. Multiple users can work on the four screens simultaneously. I am all praise fot the ingenious concept, but I fear if it would ever meet realism. In case, it gets real, it's gonna cost a fortune for sure.
