Two of the world's priciest puds go on sale at Serendipity 3 in New York

A sweet tooth could cost you a lot. If you can spend thousands of dollars on a dessert, it’s time to pay a visit to the very famous Serendipity 3 restaurant in New York. The restaurant is now offering two of the world’s most expensive puddings that are listed with Guinness. These mouth-watering treats are the £630 ($1,000) Grand Opulence Sundae and the very expensive £15,730 ($25,000) Frrrozen Haute Chocolate. Created by Serendipity’s specialist chef, the Grand Opulence Sundae is available at 48 hours notice and for the Frrrozen Haute Chocolate, you will have to wait for two long weeks. Both the desserts have 24-carat edible Swiss gold and 23-carat edible gold leaf lining. Head chef Joe Calderone said that the restaurant first created the Grand Opulence Sundae in 2005 to celebrate their 50th anniversary.

Each Grand Opulence Sundae is made with three scoops of the Tahitian vanilla ice cream, Madagascar vanilla pods, Amedei Porceleana chocolate, candied fruits from Paris and the Grand Passion Caviar. The sundae is served in a baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet and the affluent have it with an 18 carat golden spoon.

Bridget Jacobs, a customer from Alabama, had the sundae and said…

Oh my god, we are eating a $1,000 dessert? This is to die for. It is incredible.

On the other hand, the £15,730 Frrrozen Haute Chocolate comes in a baccarat Harcourt crystal goblet, featuring an 18-carat gold and white diamond bracelet around its neck. The Frrrozen Haute Chocolate is a fine blend of 28 cocoas, including 14 of the world’s most expensive and exotic cocoas. They use the world's most expensive truffle, the La Madeline au Truffle, priced at £1,573 a pound. Interestingly, the pud is served with a £8,800 ($14,000) jewel encrusted spoon, which the customers can take home.

For the Frrrozen Haute Chocolate, Joe Calderone further said…

All profits from this dessert would go to children's charities in New York, so we are definitely looking for someone to come in, be generous and to enjoy the Haute Chocolate.

We love accumulating Guinness records here and we love chocolate.
