Walt Disney’s Stitch and Angel get the gold treatment at Ginza Tanaka
Japanese jewelry designer Ginza Tanaka is well known for making outrageously expensive gold versions of ordinary things. They have earlier impressed us with the golden Mount Fuji, gold replica of the Tokyo Tower, $1.28 million Golden Horse, gold thread-woven swimsuit, gold Santa Claus, gold Christmas tree and the gold beer mug. This time, they have done the Stitch and his girlfriend Angel, the popular Walt Disney's animated characters. Made with about 280 grams of pure gold, the 15cm high figure shows Stitch hugging Angel. The Stitch and Angel gold figure, which took three months to complete, is priced at 5 million yen (approx. US $57,350).
