Recently, a collection of rare antique toys amassed by the late millionaire Malcolm Forbes and his sons fetched $2.3 million at Sotheby’s. Now, the auction house is proudly auctioning the world's largest toy collection with an estimated value in the tens of millions of dollars. The collection of 35,000 vintage toys is said to be the most comprehensive toy collection in the world. The Jerni Collection, which has been amassed by American collector Jerry Greene over a period of 50 years, pays tribute to the Golden Age of toy making. Greene said in a statement…

I put it together piece by piece, and my quest for the highest-quality trains and toys took me to thousands of toy fairs and shows.

The collection is so huge that 5000 pieces alone take the entire floor of Sotheby's auction house in New York. The collection includes toys made between 1850 and 1940, and includes replicas of real train stations, bridges and buildings destroyed during both world wars.

The Jerni Collection of 35,000 vintage toys is on display until the end of the month.
