YikeBike Fusion is 3.2 kg heavier, $1,800 cheaper

For those who liked the concept of the YikeBike electric mini-farthing, but couldn’t afford it owing to its hefty price of $3,795, the New Zealand-based company has now unveiled the new Fusion model that will cost you just $1,995 (if you can still afford it). It’s just like the original YikeBike folding electric bike, except for the fact that there is no carbon fiber this time.

The Fusion replaces carbon fiber with alloy and reinforced polymer composite, which adds an extra 3.2kg to its total weight. While the carbon fiber model weighs in at 10.8kg, the new Fusion weighs about 14kg.

The Fusion folding electric bike enjoys a speed of 23 km/hr with a range of 10km. Personally, I won't mind the addition of just over 3kg in weight considering the reduced price tag.
