Andrea Divirgilio / January 20, 2012

Smart appliances and furniture are making their way into modern homes very rapidly. We have earlier seen LG smart fridge controlled via smartphone and recently Samsung WF457 washing machine with Wi-Fi connectivity was unveiled at CES 2012. The latest hi-tech home furniture, which intends to make your life easy, is Wi-Fi fireplace by Escea. The Dundebin-based manufacturer is literally going to set the world on fire with the release of its luxury range of smart fireplaces. The company has launched an iPhone app to control the fireplace rather then look for the remote every time you need to turn it on/off or change the heat settings. The “Ghost protocol” enables you to come back to a warm home just after work; all you need to do is to go online and switch the fire on using its new “Smart Heat” control system coupled with their Power Vent Technology leaves you in control. The company has so far spent around $2 million on research and development, to be ahead of their competitors…no wonders!

The technology is combined with minimalist yet elegant design to complement every décor. The fireplaces come with ultra wide design and clean straight lines. The new D-series will have two models called DX1500 and DL850. The DX1500 captures up to 90% of the available heat and returns it back into the room via Escea’s Heat Duct technology to ensure the heat travels to the far ends of your room, while DL850 has a 9 kW of heat output and is perfect for the average size home.

The company’s IB series of fireplace too offers a choice of three distinctive designs, including Bevelled picture frame look, Squared floating fireplace look and Inset for a flush look. The custom options includes a choice of color, fire bed material, fuel effect options and heat output. The flue can be installed in the traditional vertical manner or with Escea’s power flue; you can install it almost anywhere. The fireplaces come with an optional deflector screen. The company also has a range of outdoor fireplace made from stainless steel.
