Expensive adieu to classy Elizabeth Taylor
She was born like a star and departed like a star, the epitome of beauty and class Elizabeth Taylor passed away on March 23, 2011 due to cardiac arrest. Before she passed, she requested that her casket should arrive 15 minutes late for the funeral.
The gorgeous Cleopatra actress lay in peace in a £7,000 ($11,000) wooden casket that was made in 100% mahogany wood with custom red velvet lining and matching red pillow, and was draped in violets. The 79-year-old actress was buried in the same cemetery in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, a private Jewish cemetery in which her good pal Michael Jackson was laid.
Just like Liz, King of Pop Michael Jackson was given an expensive adieu as he was laid in a $25,000, solid bronze, 14-karat gold plated custom casket that had been ordered from Batesville Casket Company.
Elizabeth’s funeral was a private affair and went on for around one hour, in which actor Colin Farrell narrated The Leaden Echo and the Golden Echo. Her fans and followers mourned outside the cemetery while the service was going on. Her public funeral service will soon take place in a few days. May her soul rest in peace!
