Most expensive listing in Colorado asks for $75 Million
If the 876-acre old Snowmass estate owned by children’s book author Patti Wheeler and her husband Tom sells at the listed price of $75 million, a price that makes it Colorado’s most expensive listing, it would become the most expensive property sale in the state, surpassing the recent sale of Prince Bandar Bin Sultan’s luxurious Hala Ranch to John Alfred Paulson for $49 million. Described as one of the nicest properties in Colorado, it’s been listed for sale by Joshua Saslove of Joshua & Co., an affiliate of Christie’s International real Estate. Also, recently Merv Griffin re-listed its La Quinta estate that comes with racetrack and horse stables for $9.5 million.
Location: The beautiful property is located at 1220 Watson Divide Road, and is identifiable by the wood fencing that runs from just above Hwy. 82 all the way to Snowmass Creek.
Completed in year 2007, the property includes a luxurious home that spans 18,500 sq. ft and boasts six bedrooms and 11 bathrooms. Within this 876-acre property, there are three swimming pools, one of which has a private beach club, and about 15 miles of hiking trails.
On the inside of the main house, there’s a movie theater with special onyx columns and a dedicated stage, spa with treatment rooms, video room and an indoor/outdoor swimming pool with a light-up painting of the constellation. Further, there’s also an outdoor kitchen, a dedicated video game room.
The sellers are Patti and Tom Wheelers, who are selling this home because their twin sons are leaving for college soon and they are looking to relocate and downsize.
