Fashion Designer Jeremy Scott gives wings to the Mercedes-Benz Smart Fortwo Electric Drive
Dubbed as the Jeff Koons of fashion for his reference to Pop-culture icons, the internationally renowned American fashion designer Jeremy Scott, who has built a reputation for outrageous designs favored by pop starts and celebs including Madonna, Rihanna, Katy Perry, Kanye West, Justin Bieber, Victoria Beckham, and Lady Gaga, to name a few, has now given artistic wings to the Smart Fortwo Electric Drive. This Jeremy designed fascinating Smart Fortwo, dubbed as ‘smart forjeremy’ is an emission-free electric ride, all-ready for lift-off into a new era of mobility; full of lightness and joie de vivre. Scheduled to be launched in 2013 as a limited special edition, Smart forjeremy was unveiled at the LA Auto Show, where Mercedes-Benz gave a sneak peek into the future with its Ener-G-Force concept SUV.

True to form, the electrifying cooperation between Jeremy and Smart is just extraordinary, as smart being the first auto brand to allow a fashion designer to make vital changes to the vehicle’s body.

The central design element in the vehicle body; the wings which are the symbol of carefree driving fun, and are one of the recurring design elements used by Jeremy to great effect, impressively light up like the splendid igniting rockets to form the rear lights.

Be it Adidas sneakers, sunglasses of sweatshirts, winged motif crop up again and again in the design collection of Jeremy Scott for whom making fashion is about creating and enlarging his own vision, and not about selling blah number of units.

Also, we have earlier seen the Daimler’s Smart Electric Car which comes with it’s own drive-in theater, and was unveiled at the Paris Motor Show, where Daimler also premiered its emission-free Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Coupé Electric Drive, the world’s most powerful series production electric car.
