Fraser Yachts, the leading Superyacht brokerage company, which earlier had created the $8.5 million Thea yacht, has announced its latest yacht, stated to be the largest in China, the Illusion measuring 88 metres in length. Though this yacht is still in production, and final delivery would be around 2015, it will bypass all other vessels in China for its sheer dimensions. Till date, China has not opened up to the idea of personal yachts by much but yachts like the Illusion will see the paradigm shift in transition. Due to the 15.6 metres wide-beam design, space utilization has been optimum for the 6 decks of the yacht. The construction is underway at the Raffles Shipyard in Shangdong province renowned for building large ships. Reportedly, the NERO Asean Lady was also built here.
Naval architecture of the vessel has been drawn up by Azure Naval who has experience in creating masterpieces, including the noted models like the Seven Seas, Alfa Nero, Cakewalk, and
The well-known Sander Sinot has been instrumental in giving the interiors of the boat a modern contemporary touch. A lot of stone work has been incorporated along with pattern wooden fixtures and high gloss finishes. The lighting is perfectly ambient, with different lighting fixtures, spread around in public and private spaces which gives the owner the ability to choose the ambiance and set the lighting accordingly.
In terms of the engine, one of the world’s most famous engine manufacturers, Rolls Royce has given the Illusion, its diesel electric propulsion engines. This translates into an eco-friendly cruising experience at 14 knots of cruising speed, and high speed cruising at 17 knots. As for the prospective buyers, the Illusion will not have any import duties for Chinese customers since the yacht is being created in China itself. This should attract anyone who is more inclined towards this new lifestyle statement in the country.
For those interested to know more about the yacht, do attend the Hainan Rendez-Vous which will be taking place from the 30th March to 2nd April, 2013, taking place in Sanya. The director of Raffles Shipyard and other high-ups ought to be at the event to clear doubts and will be available to explain the Illusion further to any interested parties.
