Get ready to game at 35,000 feet with the futuristic NFW airline seat
We’ve seen some really luxurious aircraft interiors over the years, which show that there are no limits to how much in-flight luxury you can experience with those classy décors and high-tech features. At the Aircraft Interiors Expo (April 5-7, 2011) at the Hamburg Messe in Germany, a futuristic seat concept called Not For Wimps (NFW) is being exhibited, which aims to make flying experience pleasurable for the hardcore gamers. The prototype seat has been designed by seat manufacturer Contour Aerospace in collaboration with Factorydesign.
A revolutionary concept in in-flight entertainment, the ‘Not For Wimps’ airline seat is like having a luxury workstation high up in the sky. Dedicated to in-flight gaming, the ‘Not For Wimps’ is a cocoon-like pod that comes equipped with speakers on the top edges of the seat and a large monitor suspended by a Kevlar-coated carbon fiber arm. Adam White, director at Factorydesign and project lead, said…
NFW is designed to appeal to customers who would rather spend their time on long-haul flights locked in a gaming or viewing experience rather than dropping off to sleep.
Other concepts being exhibited at the show are the Super Diamond luxury seating concept from B/E Aerospace and the Pinnacle seat with an integrated iPad. So, are you ready for high-end gaming at 35,000 feet?
