1). Nina: Your Techie Diva mascot is simply terrific, and probably you are the first one to use such a mascot/avatar for your blog. How did you come up with this idea? order vardenfil online Gina: Thank you! When I created the name Techie Diva, I wanted it to be a complete oxymoron in every sense of the word, because that's how I felt at the time. I've been in heavily male dominated organizations since I enlisted in the Marines, yet I always remained true to my femininity. I envisioned a Techie Diva as a very sexy, feminine character who was also pretty hip to technology. I expressed my ideas to the talented Charlene Chua, who is actually the one who designed the beautiful diva. Check out her artwork , and you'll see why I chose her. 2). Nandini: Describe your typical day at work? propecia 1mg side effects cheap propecia Gina: I'm inspired by the warm, sunny weather in California this time of year, so I'm really trying to start the day right by exercising in the morning. Afterwards, I start my day by checking and replying to email, going through RSS feeds, major news sites, IM some colleagues, write blogposts for both Yahoo! Tech and Techie Diva, make a few calls, review products, and lately I've been working on some video stuff. I usually make some time for myself in the evening, but sadly I do it while I surf the Internet. But I'm not complaining, I really enjoy what I do, not to mention working from home is an added bonus. 3). Vikas: Your favorite women targeted gadget blogs except Techie Diva, Of course? Gina: I really enjoy Shiny Shiny, Born Rich, BlogHer, GeekSugar, Daily Candy, and Gadget Candy. 4). Jenna: You have also worked as a web designer? How you got into Tech Yahoo? How the transformation from a web designer to a blogger took place? Gina: Back in 2003, I was working as a web designer for a small company. I knew people were excited about blogging, so I saw that as an opportunity to learn more about blog design to better serve my clients. I was running several websites at the time, and integrated blogs into them as a way of adding some life to static pages. I really enjoyed blogging, and in the summer of 2004 I thought about launching Techie Diva. As a designer, I was trained to get all my ducks in a row before launching, so I hired a graphic artist, came up with a name, and slowly put the site together. I launched the site in 2005, and after a few months the site had grabbed some media attention. That's when Yahoo! gave me a call, and offered me an amazing opportunity to write for Yahoo! Tech. 5). Vikas: You blog on TechieDiva and you're also a Tech Advisor with Tech Yahoo. What's the difference you feel in writing on a personal blog and on a corporate portal? Gina: Great question! I feel an immense responsibility when I'm writing for Yahoo because the audience is different. There are times when our posts get promoted on Yahoo!'s homepage, which means millions of people from all walks of life are reading your thoughts, and depending on the information you give them. I've written articles on phishing, Internet addiction, ergonomics, and preserving digital memories, and people are just really grateful that someone took the time to explain things. On the other hand, writing for Techie Diva is a lot less stressful for me because my audience already likes and understands technology. I really enjoy writing about concepts, futuristic technology, and even silly gadgets that make us laugh. I enjoy blogging for both sites, and I'm glad Yahoo! Tech forces me to to push myself everyday to reach my potential as a writer. It's interesting how journalists are forced to embrace the "new media", while the "new media" bloggers are thrusted into traditional media positions. Quite the experience. 6). Larry: What are those top five gadgets a style-conscious geek must have? nov 1, 2014 - fomento de la instruccion but no need to announce what the spectacle for yet buy fluoxetine europe is founded upon the same basis. Gina: A slim smartphone, iPod, UMPC or Mac, Wi-Fi Digital Camera, and a tiny Bluetooth headset. 7). Niki: 'Girls like girly things', being a techonophile, do you want to prove this wrong? Gina: Not true at all. I know plenty of men who like "girly" things too. Our society today is extremely sophisticated, and the lines are blurring between what is considered manly or girly. I think girls today like both girly and manly things, and are pretty unapologetic about it. Yay! 8). Rahul: Words of advice for upcoming bloggers? Gina: Blog hard, Play hard. 9). Renee: Do you think the blogosphere is still largely male-dominated? Gina: Hmmm. I have to to say yes. The blogosphere still feels like a boys club. I know there are plenty of blogs written by women out there, I just don't think they're getting the attention they deserve. 10). Ansh: What do you want your readers to get out of Techiediva? Where do you see TechieDiva headed in next few years? Gina: The site's goal has always been to encourage women to take a part in technology, and I hope we've sparked a little bit of interest in someone out there in the past two years since we launched. I'd love to see Techie Diva as a social network where tech minded women are able to contribute to the site in one way or another.Guess you'll have to stay tuned to find out how we'll do that. 11). Nandini: What do you think about Bornrich and Instablogs Network? Gina: buy Aciclovir online Born Rich and Women Lifestyles has been favorites of mine for a long time.
