There is a selected group of individuals who are eager to spend a lot on the rarest and oldest of whiskies. For such single malt lovers, Glen Garioch and Edinburgh Airport’s World Duty Free have joined hands to launch a limited edition single malt whiskey, just for Edinburgh travelers.
The bottle of Glen Garioch 1988 is limited in numbers as only 195 bottles have been produced for elite drinkers. The vintage single cask was specifically handpicked by the staff of Edinburgh airport from the airport’s World Duty Free team. The malt will be sold duty free at the airport as the staff won a competition to sell extra bottles of Glen Garioch malt whiskey than any other World Duty Free airport retailer in the UK.
The airport staff specially flew to Scotland’s oldest distillery at Old Meldrum last year to handpick these exclusive Glen Garioch cask. Glen Garioch that was founded in 1797 is one of the most aged distilleries in Scotland.

The 23-year-old is elegant and truly memorable drams with a wonderful combination of floral and sweet notes.The team was so passionate about the whisky they chose. It’s already flying off the shelves and is set to be sold out by Christmas”
The airport staff handpicked the single malt that has sweet Seville orange notes with the hint of fragrant highland heather. The Glen Garioch 1988 Vintage Single Cask is housed in an exclusively crafted oak wood box with the lining of hessian. The bottle is available only at the Edinburgh Airport and costs $267.8.
