Hand Built from the Frame Up: Marrs Electric Cycles are the Hot Rods of Clean Energy
Described to be the hot rods of clean energy, here are the Marrs Electric Cycles that are being designed to change the way people view cruising one enthusiast at a time. Being developed by Southern California-based Marrs Cycles, Inc. which aims to build an elite line of electric bicycles that enable the discerning riders to take advantage of a unique motorcycle-inspired riding experience in places, where only bicycles are allowed, these unique rides has encapsulated the style and influence from generations of hot rodders, kustom builders and fabricators. Brainchild of a bicycle/motorcycle enthusiast Kacy Marrs and a true hot rod innovator and businessman Brad Fanshaw, the Marrs Electric Cycles including the Marrs M-1 comes hand-built from the frame up and crafted from the finest materials. This unique hot rod of clean energy that makes use of motorcycle quality components such as the wheels, tires, hubs, seat and controls is certainly different from our earlier seen electric cycles like the Faraday electric bike, the Audi’s e-bike boasting on-board computer, an Italian gold plated bicycle with auxiliary motor, and the revolutionary e-bike nCycle that locks itself, carries your payload, plays music, & folds easily, to name a few.
The frame, forks and handlebars of the Marrs Electric Cycles are constructed of 4130 chromoly tubing with specially designed dropouts and filler panels, while the motorcycle quality components used add to the style, stability and ruggedness of the overall design.
This easy-to-ride cycle further utilizes a 3-piece pedal crank set and hydraulic disc brake, and a brushless 3-phase DC rear-hub motor which is driven by a computer managed 48V / 20AH Lithium battery. Further, the components are all housed in an air-cooled aluminum battery box.
Weighing just 140 lbs and measuring approximately 36” from ground to handlebar, the Marrs Electric Cycles which is also available with custom components, is capable to ride a 175lbs rider at a speed of 20-25 mph, and to a range of 20 miles on flat ground.
