Back in September 2007, British Harper’s Bazaar consumer magazine was festooned with 200 Swarovski crystals for 50,000 London newsstand copies. Harper’s Bazaar is going to get the same treatment once again. US-based Hearst Corporation and the India Today Group have now announced Harper’s Bazaar India magazine with an initial print run of about 18,000 copies studded with Swarovski crystal elements. Out of the 18,000 copies, 3,000 have been decked out with 48 flat-back Swarovski elements of different sizes, while the rest feature 24 flat-back crystals. Bollywood babe Kareena Kapoor has been roped in for the cover page. The limited edition run of Harper’s Bazaar magazine bears the “Made with Crystallized – Swarovski Elements” label. Sanjay Sharma, country manager, Crystallised – Swarovski Elements, said…

Our partnership with Harper’s Bazaar displays yet another inspirational creative partnership, which is avant-garde, fashion forward and luxurious, a spirit perfectly encapsulated by both the brands. The crystallised cover celebrates the launch of Harper’s Bazaar in India and gives the inaugural issue a truly spectacular and special visual presence.
