Hermès handbags ruled the auction, where bidders flocked to grab an example from the largest Hermès bag collection ever offered on sale. The other Birkin bags that got sold for handsome prices include a rare 30cm shiny violet Porosus Crocodile Birkin bag with palladium hardware that fetched $74,500, against its highest pre-sale estimate of $50,000, a 32cm Shiny Rouge H Caiman Crocodile Sellier Kelly Bag with gold hardware also brought $62,500, and a 32cm shiny rouge H Caiman crocodile sellier Kelly bag with gold hardware for $62,500.

Besides, some of the other designer handbags also brought impressive prices as well, including a Gucci stunning solid 18K yellow gold & diamond minaudiere evening bag with interchangeable multicolor tassels sold for $40,000, a Van Cleef & Arpels’ 18K yellow gold & diamond basket weave evening bag garnered $27,500, the Chanel Matte Jaune yellow crocodile jumbo flap bag that fetched $20,000, and a Kieselstein Cord shiny black crocodile large trophy bag with gold crocodile hardware sold for $13,125.
