While representing the art of fusion, the Swiss luxury watchmaker Hublot symbolizes the fusion between tradition and future through its design, knowledge and master craftsmanship. Hublot has always made a statement with its high-end and luxurious timepieces for both men and women. After recently unveiling the Tutti Fruitti colorful Tourbillion Pavé watches range for ladies, Hublot has now unveiled the two incredibly vibrant and sparkling limited edition watches as a tribute to the 50th anniversary of Costa Smeralda; the King Power Costa Smeralda for gentleman and the Big Bang Costa Smeralda for ladies. The watches were unveiled on the evening of July 16th, during the amazing party organized by the famous dala Di Volpe Starwood Hotel, where Sir Elton John also entertained the discerning guests with a special performance.
Quality, beauty, prestige, happiness, relaxation and freedom are a few words that describe Costa Smeralda. And, the Swiss watchmaker tried to perpetuate the same qualities through its watchmaking art. Located on the northern coast of the Italian Island of Sardania, the Costa Smeralda is not only celebrated for its secluded coves and unrivalled beautiful beaches, but also as a vacation spot for the world’s discerning individuals.
Historically, it’s been 50 years since Prince Karim Aga Khan first arrived in Sardania and created the iconic Costa Smeralda Consortium and made this place a tourist destination for the acclaimed international jetsetters. Top French and Italian architects were hired to design the village of Porto Cervo, and famous golf club architect Robert Trent Jones to build a world class golf facility, the Pevero Golf Club. Time goes by and Costa Smeralda is still the place to be for world class celebrities, and for Hublot, that chosen it to unveil its Big Bang Costa Smeralda, a watch specially created for the 50th anniversary.
Speaking about the Big Bang Costa Smeralda, this timepiece is easily recognizable with its diamond set grill-like component on top of the bezel, which is in stain-finished 18K red gold and 6 H-shaped titanium screws and polished 18K red gold grid set with 319 diamonds for 1.49ct. With the HUB1141 self-winding 7’30 chronograph movement, the watch sports a mat white dial with printed logo Costa Smeralda.
And, the King power Costa Smeralda features a white and skeleton dial that adds a certain edge to the white and gold watch, and sports the Costa Smeralda emblem on the dial as well as the case back. With HUB4214 self-winding chronograph movement, the watch sports a white rubber and gummy alligator strap.
Limited to just 100 examples, Hublot’s Costa Smeralda watch collection will undoubtedly appeal to the familiar international jet-setters.
