The Jaeger-LeCoultre Jubilee Collection ‘Tribute to Antoine LeCoultre’ marks watchmaker’s 180-year anniversary
Over 180 years ago, the Swiss clockmaker Antoine LeCoultre imagined one of the most beautiful watchmaking adventures ever conceived, which eventually led to the opening of first Jaeger-LeCoultre workshop in Le Sentier, Switzerland. And right from its founding in 1833, the Manufacture has not only fostered this heritage of invention, creativity and technical skill under one roof but also constantly set out in search of innovation, pushing the boundaries of watchmaking art. Still strong after 180 years, the Grande Maison impressively explored uncharted territory in developing prestigious movements, reflecting the inventive spirit of Antoine LeCoultre. And now in 2013, Jaeger-LeCoultre is celebrating its 180th anniversary, and has dedicated the Jubilee Collection to its founder, “Tribute Antoine LeCoultre”. Unveiled at the International Salon of Haute Horlogerie. this anniversary collection that opens new horizons, reflecting the creative spirit of Antoine LeCoultre and 180 years dedicated to the quest for excellence, comprises of a trilogy of luxury timepieces including the Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon 3 Jubilee, the Master Grande Tradition Tourbillon Cylindrique à Quantième Perpétuel Jubilee, and the Master Ultra Thin Jubilee.
Master Grande Tradition Gyrotourbillon 3 Jubilee
Described to be a new pinnacle of the watchmaking art, the Jaeger-LeCoultre gyrotourbillon is an authentic 21st century watchmaking sensation that now appears for the first time with a flying tourbillion, a blued gold balance and a spherical-shaped balance spring.
It boasts an aesthetic directly inspired by the pocket watches produced by Manufacture during the 19th century.
Grande Tradition Tourbillon Cylindrique à Quantième Perpétuel Jubilee
Inspired by the 19th century perpetual calenders, Jaeger-LeCoultre launches one of its finest complications with this watch, which is dedicated to collectors and divotees of the watchmaking art. Equipped with a new automatic winding mechanical movement Jaeger-LeCoultre Calibre 985, the watch boasts perfect balance between classicism, purity and relevance.
Master Ultra Thin Jubilee
Noted for being the thinnest mechanical manual winding watch in the world, this 4.05 mm thick Master Ultra Thin Jubilee watch’s design is inspired by an ultra-thin 1907 pocket-watch, and comes with a movement that reflects the full watchmaking expertise of Jaeger-LeCoultre. Its “knife-shaped” ultra-thin case in extra-white platinum measuring 39 mm in diameter is the ultimate expression of a timeless minimalist philosophy.
