Jawbone introduces the little powerhouse Big Jambox Bluetooth portable speaker
We have previously talked about some innovation in the arena of portable speakers, such as the Gelenec table tube speaker, Bang & Olufsen Beolit 12, and the Beosound 3 which all were about touching the very pinnacle of quality, while being portable. Now, competing in the already crowded arena is the Jawbone Big Jambox speakers, which will allow one to plug in any Bluetooth ready storage device and experience high quality sound at the same time. For those that may have recalled the bright coloring, it draws its inspiration from the 1970’s hit product called the ‘Boombox’, that was one of the earliest success stories amongst premium portable speakers.
Available for $299, there are many advantages to owning one of these speakers. Compact, light in weight, and easy to use, many elements of the original design see a rehash on this one. With a steel grill on the outside, with rubber linings for placement and stability, there only lies a few simple buttons on the device. One can skip, raise and lower volume, and the rest are controlled externally through Bluetooth connectivity.
The other advantage may notice, is that it can pair up with multiple devices at the same time, and also act as a loudspeaker during video chats, voice calls and audio conferences. Just pair it once with the blue tooth ready device such as your iPod, iPhone, or any multimedia storing device, and you are ready to experience great sound alongside.
Since most of these things will be lying around the place with long durations between battery charges, the Lithium ion cell fitted inside the Big Jambox, allows one to play continuous music for a period of 15 hours before the next recharge. Also due to its unique shape and design, the sound is sprayed out in all directions with great intensity, thus making it very handy for high quality audio on the move. Truly worth your money before the next home party.
