Highly acclaimed for its handmade women’s shoes, the eponymous cult fashion brand of the Malaysian-Chinese fashion designer Jimmy Choo, has now collaborated with New York-based contemporary visual artist Robb Pruitt who’s noted for his works about the complexity of black identity by combining contrasting signs and imagery of disparate Black influences and aesthetics to create a capsule collection featuring collectable pieces that impressively integrates both Rob’s sarcastic wit and Jimmy Choo’s iconic glamour. The collection that has a whimsical feel and incorporates some of Pruitt’s recurring artistic themes, like the one founded in his glittering panda bear paintings, 7-foot-tall silvered Andy Warhol monument, features 19 styles of shoes, bags and accessories, prominently including leopard-print patent-leather wallets, zebra-patterned high heels, and the $13,250 limited edition ANGEL panda minaudière clutches that has been adorned with more than 11,000 hand-applied Swarovski Crystals.
Billed as the ultimate expression of the artistic collaboration between Jimmy Choo and Rob Pruitt, the ANGEL panda minaudière clutches, limited to just 14 examples and exclusively numbered and signed by the artist, has been executed in unique materials developed exclusively for the collaboration by the brand.
This ANGEL panda minaudière clutch that notably features more than 11, 000 Swarovski Crystals, black leather lining, detachable gold chain shoulder strap, comes impressively housed in a special calfskin box embossed with the Jimmy Choo logo and a nappa leather pull tab to open.
And on the inside, the minaudiere sits in a leather 'bed', which has been especially designed to fit the specific shape and house this piece as a wearable piece of art.
