Kate Moss’ Topshop dress with 60,000 Swarovski crystal beads
Swarovski has risen to recognition since its debut in 1895 and on the 18th of this month, London welcomed the return of Swarovski Fashion Rocks, the ultimate combination of fashion and music. The focus of the evening was the Topshop dress worn by Kate Moss for The Prince’s Trust as homage to a 1920′s vintage original from Kate’s personal collection. The dress was festooned with 60,000 Swarovski crystal beads of silver, dove grey and antique green. It’s in a classic Flapper cocktail dress style and covered with looping tassels that sparkle as the dress moves. The dress has been designed by Kate and the Topshop design team and hand-beaded by Hand and Lock. They have used an extraordinary kind of beading technique called tamber to create this stunning piece. Kate Moss cited that it was like a dream to use such an amazing amount of Swarovski crystals. The Swarovski studded dress, which would retail at £40,000 (US $81,565) is presently up for auction at KateMossTopShop.
