Katherine Heigl and her husband Josh Kelley purchased the lavish traditional looking mansion in September 2007 for $2.55 million. Built in Southern Colonial style, the house was originally constructed in1922 and has received several upgrades over the years. The property featured just two bedrooms initially though later constructions provided the additional living space in the home.

The actress spent almost a week in the famous sea side city with her husband Josh Kelley providing perfect company. A visit to the Everglades National Park provides an opportunity to witness more than a dozen rare and endangered animal species like the American Crocodile, Florida Panther and the West Indian Manatee. The park also offers camping options and is the perfect weekend gateway. The Miami Zoo has one of the best collection of plant and animal exhibits in the United States.

Actress Katherine Heigl has been an active supporter of the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Based in Los Angeles, the global organization provides the latest medicine against AIDS and advocacy to over 130,000 people located in 22 countries. AHF aims to test an unprecedented 1 billion people each year and help them out.

Ms. Heigl has been known to be an advocate of people's rights. She has also been honored for her dedication to such issues. So, it is not a surprise that she backs Chrysalis which is a non-profit organization which helps economically disadvantaged people get employment opportunities.

Katherine Heigl's attended a charity event with her cute pet dog Romeo. Incidentally Australian designer Peter Alexander has been so smitten by the miniature Schnauzer that he is putting the pup's mug for sale alongside his next year’s collection. Proceeds from the sale will benefit a couple of animal charities.
