With a rooftop playground and fitness center, along with a gym with full-sized basketball court and volleyball courts, an exclusively new and pricey private ‘world’ school where annual tuition runs more than $40,000, will be Suri Cruise's school for her first grade studies. Katie Holmes, the newly single mom enrolled her 6-years old daughter, Suri in world school Avenues, which is scheduled to open its flagship campus in New York City’s Chelsea neighborhood in Fall 2012. Avenues will be a one international school with 20 or more campuses dotted around the globe, enabling children of the jet-setting professionals and elites to switch between schools without disturbing their education, and let pupils follow their loving parents, wherever they go. However, with $40,000 a year tuition fee, Avenues does becomes one of the most expensive private schools in America, but not in the world as the Swiss boarding school the Institut Le Rosey also referred to the 'School of Kings' with $113,000 is the world’s most expensive private school.
Avenues’ New York City Chelsea flagship campus which overlooks New York City’s new High Line isn’t actually far from Tom Cruise's ex-wife Katie Holmes’ $23 million swanky pad in the same lavish neighborhood. Reportedly, Katie has eagerly been telling Suri Cruise all about the full sized basketball courts, lunchrooms and different activities the new world school Avenues offers.
About Suri’s school:
It’s a first-of-its-kind school where curriculum and space have been developed hand-in-hand to facilitate learning.
The school’s 10-storey building design culminates in a spectacular rooftop recreation and play space with breathtaking views to many areas of the New York City, including the Chelsea Piers, the Empire State Building, the Hudson River, and the High Line.
The High Line location will provide a pleasant way, away from traffic, for Suri Cruise to walk to her school, using the 26th Street High Line access point, which is just steps away from the Avenues’ entrances.
School's also has a partnership with Chelsea Piers, where Suri has been enrolled for gymnastics classes.
The Avenues school stresses bi-lingual education, which enables Suri to learn Spanish or Mandarin in addition to English. Earlier, Suri was however expected to attend an exclusive Catholic school but her actress mother’s choice has certain advantages.
With Avenues’ campuses planned for 20 schools in five continents, including locations like China, India, Australia, Europe, America and Africa, Suri will certainly be able to study on five continents.
