Kylie Minogue's underwear sells for $8,000 at auction, above the estimate

Lately, we have seen the huge impact celebrities have on our lives, with even weird celebrity memorabilia going for huge amounts at the auctions. But this obsession is taking a toll. Recently we saw a urinal signed by Pop queen Lady Gaga sold off for a outrageous sum of money at $460,000. And now, knickers that belongs to Kylie Minogue have been auctioned off for $8,000 at Christie’s London.

This lingerie set was once worn by the actress during a photo shoot for the 2012 Study Vox Foundation charity calendar. The red silk La Perla set was put on auction at Christie’s London to support the young people who are financially troubled and are struggling to maintain active citizenship.

Red bustier with lace trim and red silk underwear surpassed the estimated price of $3,000-$6000 and fetched a whooping $8000 indeed. The set has been bought by an unknown bidder, who also received a calendar signed by the pop star. After the end of the auction, Kylie tweeted “Thx to the mystery buyer!!! Wow! So thrilled for a great cause.”

Queen Victoria's bloomer

And, if that came as a surprise to you, few days ago we had reported about Queen Victoria’s bloomer that was sold at Edinburgh auction house Lyon & Turnbull. The old-styled white silk underwear that was once owned by Britain’s Queen Victoria, fetched a whopping $15,000. Bought by an anonymous antiques collector, it reportedly got sold for three times the estimated price.
