The 2014 Range Rover Sport which is being dubbed as the fastest creation by it’s maker Land Rover, will now boast of a new sound system from Meridian, with 3D surround sound technology. Jaguar Land Rover and Meridian have joined hands to bring in 2 new speaker system options (1,700W and 825W) in the new ‘Sport’ edition of the Range Rover SUV, which also happens to be the world’s first in-car technology of it’s kind. According to official sources, each music system in the Range Rover Sport has taken 4,000 man hours of work to perfectly involve into an accessory fit for the new luxury SUV. From a rugged vehicle, to a more luxurious one complete with a surreal audio experience, seems to be the way the companies want to pitch the 2014 Range Rover Sport’s capabilities to the niche consumers.

Top of the range would be the 1700W Meridian Signature Surround Sound system, which will put 23 speakers in various parts of the Range Rover cabin. Trifield 3D technology paired with state-of-the-art amplifiers with the latest digital processing technology, will make the passengers get a complete ‘view’ of the sounds played on the system.

Following the high end version, will be the 825W Meridian Surround Sound System, which has 19 speakers placed in various sections of the passenger cabins. Trifield technology has been used here as well, which will add a greater ‘space’ element to the experience of audio. As Graham Landlick, the programme manager for Meridian’s Automotive division would say, the experience will be as if one is present right where the original source of the sound was, like a concert. Added with that, the speakers have been fitted in accordance to the various seating position of the passengers! To get a taste of that, do watch the video above.
