It’s been 50 years since the very first installment of the James Bond film series, ‘Dr. No’ premiered in theaters. Since then, a total of 22 installments, including the 23rd on-screen adventure ‘Skyfall’ have successfully come out, featuring the iconic secret service agent 007. And, out of the 23 legendary films, one champagne brand that has appeared in a grand total of 12 Bond movies, after its first appearance in 1973's Live & Let Die, and has been the favorite drinking choice of none other than but James Bond himself, is the Champagne Bollinger. Now, to celebrate the 50th proud anniversary of 007’s first appearance on screen back on 5th October 1962, and the successful Bollinger / James Bond partnership, the French champagne house has launched Bollinger 002 for 007, which is a limited edition of a very special bottle of Bollinger, complemented by a stylish presentation box in the shape of a weapon of choice for James Bond, the Walther PPK silencer.
Recently, a limited edition cabinet with twelve vintages of Bollinger R.D. Champagne gifted to the James Bond producers in order to celebrate the 50th anniversary of this famous champagne was also offered at Chrisite’s Bond Memorabilia Auction, where it was estimated to sell for $16,000–23,000.
For the creation of this limited edition collector bottle, Bollinger has collaborated with Spark Design Agency. Adorned in shiny black and hot stamped silver, the $200 bottle features a guilloche pattern on the cap and label, which is also repeated on the silencer box, referencing to the pistol grip while being a tribute to James Bond’s eye for detail.
This limited edition gift box houses a bottle of the prized Bollinger La Grande Annee 2002, one of the greatest vintages of the last century, which can be opened by actually cracking the code, by aligning the three figures 007 and with the push of the gun logo button.
Also, we have earlier seen the Bollinger 007 Champagne Cooler, a limited edition champagne cooler in the shape of a bullet, inspired from the weapon of choice for Agent 007 in the Quantum of Solace.
