After the Time Table, the Tini Time cocktail cabinet, the $100,000 Monte Carlo Casino writing desk and the tantalizing Tantalus, the latest from David Linley are the Lalique Jewellery Boxes. The beautiful "Masque de Femme" and "Perles" jewellery boxes are an upshot of a collaboration between British design company Linley and the French design house LALIQUE. The limited edition boxes represent the fine work of Lalique crystal combined with Linley signature wood through the techniques of marquetry and inlay. The Masque de Femme jewelry box is made in Macassar ebony and covered with vellum. The box bears the stylish Lalique "Masque de Femme" motif, which was originally created by René Lalique in 1935. There are 20 flower shaped crystals on the inlaid panel. On the other hand, the Perles box contrasts the smooth satin finish of Lalique crystal with the high gloss ebonized maple wood signature of LINLEY. Limited to 99 pieces for both designs, the Lalique Jewellery Box by Linley sells for €9,600 (about $13,425).
