The designer teaware is what can make a regular tea session an opulent one. Now for all those times when you have taken out your special tea sets to serve your guests, you might feel the urge to add this handcrafted limited edition Royal Selangor tea set to your collection of designer teaware. This special tea set commemorates the company’s 125th anniversary with a hammered design from the 1930s. This limited edition tea set is handcrafted using time-honored skills passed on from Royal Selangor’s founder Yong Koon more than a hundred years ago. Inspired by its traditional ceremonial pewterware, the teapot, sugar bowl and creamer are angular in shape and decorated with neat rows of hammer marks that create a delightful pattern on the surface.

“The geometric shapes are softened with rounded corners and curves that highlight the beauty and malleability of pewter and give it a modern edge.” A limited edition of only 125 sets are available for sale and each set comes in a dark wooden box with glossy walnut finish lined with velvet and accompanied by a copy of Royal Selangor’s Born and Bred in Pewter Dust book written by the founder’s great granddaughter Chen May Yee. Each piece in the set is engraved with a serial number and the set comes with a serialized certificate of authenticity as well for a price of $3106.
