When delving into the the history of the bottle, one gets to know that the distillation process of the whisky began in the year 1962, when the first installment of the James Bond series, 'Dr No' was released. Now that it's past 50 years since then, Macallan has decided to auction of a special bottle, with the signatures of Daniel Craig, Berenice Marlohe, and Javier Bardem who have been a part of the 'Skyfall' edition of the movie. Bids are expected to open at the price of $7,560 and then expected to go up.

All proceeds from the sale will go to the Goverment Communications Fund (GC Fund), which caters to the former employees of the British Intelligence agency, GCHQ who may have been distressed. Ken Grier, director of malts for Edrington was delighted to continue the Macallan and James Bond relationship.

Following on from The Macallan’s appearance in Skyfall, we are delighted to further our association of the Bond franchise with this charity auction,” . “We are hopeful that the combination of the Bond link with the auction appeal of vintage Macallan will give us a real result. The GC Fund is a very fitting recipient of the monies raised.”
