Martha’s “Chow Chow” dog named “Ghenghis Khan” is surely her favorite as the cute animal made her truimphant when it won the "Best in Breed” award, competing against 2,000 dogs representing 185 breeds at the 136th “Westminster Kennel Club” dog show in New York. The prize winning pooch has been a real source of amazement for Martha, as she loves playing with her charming dog at home.
The domestic goddess also owns two French bulldogs “Francesca” and “Sharkey”, featuring contrast colors, which are amongst one of her favorite breed. Pet lover Martha created a separate blog “The Daily Wag” for her cute bulldogs, in which the dogs update news about their daily lives, and provide valuable resources for the pet owners, with the generous help from their master Martha. The business woman loves both dogs to death, despite an accident in which Francesca bit Martha above the upper lip, when the domestic diva was whispering goodbye to the sleeping French bulldog, resulting in a bloody wound on her upper lip and nine stitches to close it up.
Pet crazy Martha has seven Himalayan cats, which the crafty queen calls as Teeney, Weeney, Vivaldi, Verdi, Mozart, Bartok and Belioz, all named after eminent composers. Martha loves kitties to such an extent that she devoted an entire show to cats and even featured them in her commercials for Kmart and in the cover page of her magazine. Martha’s adorable cats can be spotted everywhere in the home, especially in the creative craft’s room.
An avid animal lover, Martha adores Hens and chickens as pets. The crafty queen owns various pretty breeds of hen, which lay plenty of delicious eggs, and provides Martha with a pleasant time playing with the chicks. Martha’ Turkey Hill home includes a mammoth “chicken coop” which provides a blissful home to nearly 80 hens and roosters of varied breeds.
A real animal advocate, Martha owned five Dutch Friesian horses, at one point of time. Martha had to bid goodbye to one of her Friesian horse, after her 17 year old horse “Martyn”, horse passed away due to a long, painful, lameness which ultimately caused the failure of Martyn’s rear fetlocks. Known for their sheer grace and supreme agility, Friesian horses feature luxurious, long, thick manes and feathers on their hind legs, making them an ideal choice for a pet lover like Martha.
Martha owns three Miniature donkeys, two males “Clive” and “Rufus” and one female “Billie”. Charismatic creatures by nature, Martha’s fury friends are sometimes difficult to manage, but the pet lover adores feeding and pampering them to calm them down. Martha considers older miniature donkey’s calmer than the young ones, due to the stubborn nature of the juvenile donkeys.
