Maserati Gransport

Maserati GranSport is the modified version of Coupé and Spyder which was first launched at the 2004 Geneva Motor Show. Maserati is seriously proud of the enhanced aerodynamic improvements, which we believe were an unexpected gift from features developed by the Ferrari-Maserati design head Frank Stephenson. The GranSport featured a lower look and a more muscular posture than the original one that was skillfully designed by Giugiaro. The car was a real gem from the legendary car makers and became people’s favorite just after its launch. The supple leather lined coupe came with an impressive name along with nice performance numbers.

Despite its additional appendages, GranSport looks good. It does not drop its four-seat accommodation, still the décor tries to its best to be modern and sporty instead of being leather-bound traditional. A tidy carbon-fiber molding forms a slender center console and looks absolutely fine. The various schemes are used all over GranSport's cockpit, on the door panels, excellently shaped sport seats centers, and even in the headliner. Carbon fiber interior trim is employed while electric seats and almost all the features and standard equipments of the Coupé are also used. The slimmed-down dash houses the necessary controls and a full-color display screen. The driving controls comprising the engine starter, gearshift characteristics and accelerator response are very much close to the hand, enhancing the vehicle control.

The car’s looks were enhanced by fitting 19-inch Trofeo wheels bearing the special Pirelli P Zero Rosso Asimmetrico tires, also added was an instantly changeable Skyhook active damping system, which is most standard unit on the GranSport. The visual tricks effectively work-in front with the large size chrome mesh grille along with the under-bumper air intakes, also the easily closing up doorsill extensions, looked big enough to appear like running boards, which again enhanced the look. The car’s drag coefficient has been significantly improved by a fair trunklid spoiler and an extensive rear bumper featuring enlarged outlets to promote airflow under the car. It is equipped with sleek body cladding, chrome mesh grille, special 19-inch wheels and the Skyhook active suspension. The exhaust is especially tuned to ferociously "growl" on start-up and at full throttle. The car measures 178.1 inches (4,520 mm) long, 51.0 inches (1,300 mm) high, 71.7 inches (1,820 mm) wide, and measures 3,704 pounds in weight.
