McLaren P1 ‘ultimate supercar’ aims to be the best driver’s car in the world on road and track
Twenty years ago, back in 1992, McLaren Automotive raised the supercar performance bar with the McLaren F1, setting the world land-speed record for a production car, which is regarded as one of the iconic sports car of the modern age. Now, with a vision to make an ultra-exciting, most technologically advanced, most capable, and most dynamically accomplished supercar, McLaren Automotive will unveil its ultimate supercar, the gen-next Mclaren P1. Aimed to be the world’s best driver car on road and track and to redefine McLaren’s F1 legacy once again, the exclusively new Mclaren P1 takes much of its spiritual and technological inspiration from the company’s F1 Racing division. Defined to be the result of a total of 50-years of legendary road car and racing heritage, the Mclaren P1 will be previewed as a design study at the Paris Motor Show, Mondial de l’Automobile 2012. And next year, a production vehicle, which the McLaren Automotive intents to put on sale within 12-months, will be officially revealed.
Notably, Mclaren Automotive will use its first ever international motor show appearance to unveil its new Mclaren P1, which is aimed to be the quickest and most rewarding series production road car on a circuit, rather not necessarily to be the fastest in absolute top speed.
However, there is no word on the price and specifications as yet, but the Mclaren automotive have stated that when the McLaren P1 will move to production next year, it’ll be placed above the 12C and the recently introduced 2013 Mclaren MP4-12C Spider, in terms of both performance and price.
Also, further information will be released following the McLaren Automotive press conference scheduled to be held on 27 Spetember at the Paris Motor Show.
