For Daimler, its the year of "Mercedes-AMG." The German automaker had recently introduced its lighter, faster and technologically advanced Mercedes Benz SL 65 AMG and the radically new sixth generation 2013 Benz SL-class 500, which is indeed counted as the best in the two-seater convertible. Now, a total of three attractive Mercedes, including the new generation of the GLK, the all-new GL-Class full size SUV and the highly exclusive SL 65 AMG got unveiled at the 2012 New York International Auto Show. And, the highlight of the new collection is Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG “45th ANNIVERSARY” to mark its 45th birthday. The cars will also be produced in a limited edition of just 45 units.
This V12 roadster boasts an exclusive array of design features and unusual appointments that boasts what the brand claim, "the driving performance to perfection." The Mercedes designers have created an exclusively new paint finish, ‘design magno graphite’ for the SL 65 AMG “45th Anniversary”. The V12 roadster’s supremely powerful character further gets highlighted by this grey color with its satin look. Further, the matt finish brings out the aluminum body contours in a particular striking guise, and the highlights in the form of high-gloss chrome applications add interesting contrasts to the look of this roadster.
Other dazzling highlights include the all new 'twin-blade' radiator grill which dominates the front section, the horizontal bar in the front skirt, the exterior mirrors and the spoiler are made from genuine carbon and finished with a silk-matte surface treatment. In addition, the STYLE Exclusive designo leather upholstery is in titanium grey pearl/ginger beige, making it look different than the standard Mercedes Benz SL 65 AMG.
The SL 65 AMG “45th Anniversary” gets its power from the technically reworked 6.0-liter twin turbo V12 engine, and this high-quality engine cover consists of matt carbon fiber and aluminum. The AMG delivers impressive smooth running characteristics along with distinctive AMG V12 sound.
The multi-spoke forged wheels of this limited ediiton AMG is painted in titanium grey with high-sheen rim flange, and the matt finish round off its stylish, sporty and innovative appearance to perfection. The light-alloy wheels designed by the AMG Performance Studio are fitted with tyres in size 255/35 R 19 at the front and 285/30 R 20 at the rear. In its bottom bezel, the Performance steering wheel sports the iconic AMG logo, and offers a two-tone rim in titanium grey/ginger beige. Further, a badge bearing the “45th ANNIVERSARY – 1 OF 45” logo boasts its exclusivity.
Produced in a limited edition of 45 units, the Mercedes-Benz SL 65 AMG “45th ANNIVERSARY” will be available for buyers in September 2012.
