Mercedes-Benz Style, a unique styling division comprising not only of transport-related products, but also lifestyle products, furniture and industrial design, has over the times impressed us with some of the truly unique designer creations. In addition to creating classic automotive designs, the designers at Mercedes-Benz styled other stunning products like the Eurocopter EC145 luxury helicopter, the Mercedes-Benz Style Coupe which is about creating a rebellious automotive impression, and the Mercedes-Benz Style inspired luxury baby pram project. Now, after over 125 years Gottleib Daimler first built the motorized boat and cruised up the German River Neckar, Mercedes-Benz style and the UK-registered boat building company Silver Arrows Marine, have presented breathtaking designs for a luxurious motor-yacht against the backdrop of the iconic Monaco Yacht Show 2012, where world will get to see the Benetti's longest yacht "Diamonds Are Forever" and the Icon Yachts 120m Expose superyacht concept.
The 14-meter long seagoing Granturismo combines design elements which are typical of legendary Mercedes-Benz automobiles with innovation which is almost unknown in the luxury boat industry. And, the result is however an emotionally appealing and progressive luxury yacht which features Mercedes-Benz's passionate design language.
Additionally, the yacht also represents the next-stage in Daimler’s vision of all-encompassing mobility, along with automaker’s products on land and the Eurocopter EC145 in the air, and mobility on water.
The yacht is being designed, developed and built by Silver Arrows marine whose team of world acclaimed marine architects and engineers, is responsible for crafting some of the most demanding, capable, and luxurious marine products.
Notably, the ‘Silver Arrow of the seas’ stands for style, pleasure, and luxury, and embodies pure emotion, while its design makes it suitable for a wide range of uses, including overnight accommodation.
Also, we have earlier seen the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Cigarette boat which costs over $1 million, the 46-foot custom racing boat that takes its inspiration from Mercedes' SLS AMG supercar, besides the Mercedes-Benz furniture collection which brings in high-end German designing into your homes.
UPDATE: This first Granturismo of the seas, the Silver Arows Marine 14m luxury motor yacht has now come a significant step closer to reality after the successful completion of its first sea trials, as it has show all the potential that was expected by its makers.
In the trials, the F-1 style automotive techniques were used for high-tech data logging that will ultimately help the manufacturers build up a good picture of the boat’s abilities. In the picture above, the vessel looks unfinished because its superstructure has yet to be added.
