Bringing back the emotional premium elements from the traditional hand-made prams, in times when baby prams are the symbol of luxury and art, young Hungarian student designer Árpád Takács, studying industrial design at the Hungarian Moholy-Nagy University of Art and Design, has now designed a functional piece of art dubbed as the Abeo baby pram concept for Mercedes-Benz Style, a unique styling division comprising not only transport-related products, but also furniture and lifestyle products and industrial design. Similar to this Mercedes-Benz Style inspired baby pram, we have earlier seen an elegant Porsche baby stroller by Porsche Design that matches the lavish car. However, it’s not new when this designer has come up with an exceptionally innovative design. Earlier, Árpád Takács got recognition and praise from one of the world’s most prolific and celebrated industrial designer Karim Rashid, for his Coelus Skiboot Concept.
Like the Árpád Takács’s earlier Coelus Skiboot Concept design, which draws inspiration from the amazing form of glaciers and icy mountain-tops; his new Abeo baby pram concept for Mercedes-Benz Style draws inspiration from the deep ocean floating creatures like the Nautilus.
Understanding that mothers belly is the best place for a baby, Árpád Takács has designed the Abeo baby pram with a flexible saddle function to truly give a mother’s belly like secured and comfortable atmosphere.
Drawing from the bridge architectures, the designer has created a lightweight and foldable carbon chassis which has the same dimension like the shopping carts.
The Abeo baby pram’s geometry not only gives a close parent-baby connection but also decreases the mother’s back pain as well. The centered storage space is good for stability, thus keeping our bags in safe position. It’s definitely a 3 in 1 luxury baby pram concept that gives the best to the users from the very first day.
The form concept reflects tradition, innovation and future representing the design philosophy of the world renowned automaker with three-pointed star, the Mercedes-Benz.
