Mercedes C63 AMG

Mercedes C63 AMG

The Mercedes C63 AMG has been built with the concept of 'force' being the guiding force! Though introduced in 1993 as a replacement for the 190 (W201) range, the C-class Mercedes cars have undergone a long evolution and a few revolutions to ultimately result in the C63. In fact, this was the first ever model to be AMG-Mercedes designed and it soon won the accolade of being the best driver's car from AOL Auto among the Mercedes arsenal. The coupe is available for a base price of $67,700 and for an additional $5,200, fetches a premium performance package which is worth every dollar spent. The coupe stands as a strong competitor to Audi's RS5, BMW's M3, Cadillac's CTS-V, Chevrolet's Camaro SS and Ford's Mustang GT.

The interiors of the C63 AMG, like any modern sports car, is strikingly similar to an aircraft cockpit - highly functional. Yet, one cannot deny that it exudes luxury and class. The Mapa leather upholstery and the aluminium trim parts speak highly of quality. The gear stick is an aluminum shift paddle, ever so smooth and light. All the four seats arrive with seat-belts and safety air-bags are present for the front and sides. Horizontal fluting, adaptive backrest and integral head restraints are specialties of the seats. The instrument panel up front is neat, large and well lit. The different modes there captures different stats for the driver. These apart, the climate control and multimedia system are available as optional extras. However, the ESP (Electronic Stability Program) is standard in every car and it functions extremely well.

Compared to the other C-class Mercedes-Benz cars, the C63 has a wider front stance with power domes and a front apron which seats fog lights and air outlets. The powerful bi-xenon headlamps look regal work in sync with the intelligent lighting system to provide good illumination. A honey-combed grille in between holds the trademark Mercedes star. When it comes to the rear fascia too, the C63 impresses with quad exhaust pipes which are chrome-tipped. The rear apron has a black diffuser blow it and a spoiler lip with diffuser fins. The overall body styling is athletic with side vents and side skirts and a sunroof on top. The 18-inches, light alloy wheels arrive with 15 spokes and are in a titanium grey shade at the center. There are small modifications and curves throughout the length of the coupe to make it more aerodynamic in design.
