Mercedes Gold-Wrapped cars add more glamour to Cannes film festival
Star inside. Star outside. The world renowned three pointed star automobile brand, Mercedes-Benz and Mercedes-AMG will now be chauffeuring the glittering stars of Hollywood in a fleet of vehicles wrapped in faux-gold in order to celebrate the awarding of the 65th Palme d’Or (Golden Palm), the highest prize that will be awarded at the upcoming anniversary of the Cannes International Film Festival. Adding more glamour to the event, this shuttle concept reminds us of Sacha Baron Cohen’s recently released popular comic spoof movie called ‘The Dictator’, in which the Admiral General Aladeen is seen spoofing around his country of Wadiya in the gold-plated Dartz Prombron Aladeen, with very eccentric ways of carrying on his dictatorship.
With this special shuttle service of transporting the renowned movie-moguls around a French resort in a fleet of Mercedes Limos and AMG cars, Mercedes will show-off the star-power of its luxurious vehicles, while leaving a subtle remark on the shallowness of the manipulation of the celebrity’s public image.
For throughout the Cannes film festival run days, Mercedes-AMG will also invite the visitors and guests to experience true ‘Driving Performance’ on individual test drives in current AMG models along with the French Riviera. Also, the attendants at the Cannes Film Festival will get to see the Mercedes-Benz SL 63 AMG, which will be on display outside the Hotel du Cap-Eden Roc.
However, it’s not new to see the gold-plated Mercedes avatars, as we have earlier witnessed the gold-plated Merceded-Benz C63 AMG, along with the examples like the gold-wrapped Audi R8 supercar, the gold-plated Porsche, the ASI Bentley Continental GTR Gold and the golden Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano, to name a few.
Besides the gold-plated Mercedes, Sasha Baron Cohen-aka-The Dictator added more bling to the Cannes glamorous film festival with his gold-plated Dartz Prombron Gold SUV.
