Novotel & Microsoft futuristic hotel room In the age where futuristic designs take the lead, and unique options stand out in the sea of customers, Microsoft and Novotel have now teamed up for a unique futuristic hotel room in Montparnasse, France. The room which features luxury and comfort is ideally targeted at the tech-savvy executives and families, who would have Microsoft gizmos to their disposal, and a similarly themed decor to surround them in. The booking for this room (No. 3120) has already caught the fancy of many holiday makers, and bookings are only open till February 2012. We have seen hotel rooms with all modern amenities included in them, but the 3120 at Novotel in Montparnasse, France takes the futuristic concept to another level. Themed in white primarily, the colors within the room are generally bright shades and designs in the drawing area, whereas some of the interior upholstery is in brown, blue and black, bringing about a lot of aesthetic contrast and tech-friendly appeal to the ambience. Even the sofa cushions are keyboard shaped! But, what is setting the room apart is the gadgetry used in various corners such as the XBOX 360 gaming console, Sensorit digital mirror, and the Kinect control system. While the XBOX 360 remains an entertainment tool which one can use for high-end gaming, connected to a 30-inch flat-screen TV also used for general viewing, the Sensorit digital mirror is the cloak area takes the cake, allowing for one to interact with real time news and multimedia, and also use it as a normal mirror. The Kinect control system, also based on the XBOX 360, allows controlling other functions within the room such as lighting and ambience changes, through gesture recognition technology. Simply put, wave or move your hand and it’s done! Whether it’s the bedroom or bathroom, this gesture recognition system works on all the screens placed in these areas, making it everything possible at the touch or movement of a finger!
