Mini cars to $1 million carousel, Milhous Collection offers most expensive gift ideas for rich kids
The year ending is here, and the shopping lists have been prepared with many of them already exhausted. A lot of these will perhaps include a lot of kids’ items, some of them being rather exclusive. For those that are looking for some exclusive gifts for children, the Milhous Collection offers some of the most expensive kid’s gifts one can find in the market today. From million dollar pedal powered toy cars to the million dollar carousel, this gift collection will have items to be auctioned of jointly by RM Auctions and Sotheby’s.

46-foot carousel

Estimated Price: $1 million- 1.5 million
Perhaps one of the most detailed and elaborates in the collection; this carousel is what every kids’s fantasy world comprises of. With a 46-foot diameter, this is a magnum opus entertainment object for the kids, who can have their own get together and celebrations, as there are a total of 44 different kinds of animals to ride on, and Wurlitzer 153 band organ playing in the background while on their joyrides. The intricate work on the animals and instrument’s other parts makes it quiet the show piece to have.
1927 Auburn mini-car

Estimated Price: $1 million
When we first saw, like most others, we had taken this for granted that it was the real thing. But then we came across the fact that this is a pedal-powered mini-car version of the 1927 Auburn. We haven’t been given the exact details of the car, but from what we have dug through, the only difference apparently with the real thing is the absence of the engine, and the overall proportions. Rest of all, this is as close to the real car as possible, taking into consideration the detailing and bodywork. Estimates also say this just might the most expensive mini-car/ pedal powered car for kids.
This gift collection on auction, actually begun as a private collection of artefacts by the Milhous brothers beginning way back in 1959. Over the years, they collected and bought over 260 items which include other items such as the 1912 Oldsmobile touring car (estimated to being between $1.4 to 1.6 million), the Welte Wotan Brass Band Orchestration (estimated to fetch between $1.5 to 2.5 million) and also the 125-key Gaudin mechanical dance organ (estimated to bring $1.2 to 1.4 million) which will go under the hammer between February 24-25, 2012. Though not all the items, but some of the most significant in terms of economic and novelty value will now be sold of rich buyers who would want to gift their children something truly special. So all the uber-rich parents out there, do get your spare cash together to indulge your children big time next year.
