Morphy's auction house to auction rare vintage comics for serious collectors

After the much talked comic book auctions last year, which included the Avengers #1 book, and 1938 Action Comics #1 (the world’s most expensive comic book), this year too has bought in surprises for the avid book collector, and fans of comics from the by-gone era. Morphy’s Auction will be putting on the auction block 2 books which include a May 1939 No.27 issue of the ‘Detective Comics’ with Batman on the cover, and the other being a May 1963 issue of the ‘Amazing Spiderman’. From what may have begun as entertaining books for kids, as now turned into some of the most sought after hobbies, and literary memorabilia people know of.

From an era whose comic books can have bidding prices in excess of $1 million, than it is a bit of a surprise that something which a year younger, face such a steep drop in bidding price. However, this 1939 unrestored CGC graded 6.5 still has certain notable features which include the signature of Bob Kane, who was the creator of Batman, but other than that, doesn’t have a single mark or writing on any of the pages. The color has been largely been classified as white to off-white, which notable considering the age. Since the bid is still, the final winner might end up paying much more than the current price, so those eager collectors with extra cash, there is still chance to get this comic into your treasured collection.

A lot younger in age than the other comic in the list, never the less carries considerable vintage value for comics’ collectors of that by gone era. Also the higher grading of 8.5 shall make it a highlight of the auction, considering the degradation of such books which takes place over time. As per details, this book is just one of the many that will be offered along with a collection of 250 other rare comic books, hence not expected to fetch a premium. From what can be gathered, this book just might be for those who haven’t got as much cash lying around to buy comic books.
