Coach, the American brand is usually known for having a range of bags that are affordable by high end retail standards. Most of their product range is priced under $500. This may be about to change as the company has now decided to venture into the high end luxury segment. The bags in this range will come for a price tag of around $5000. Taking the first step in this direction, Coach has decided to collaborate with Billy Reid to design the purses of high value, such as their most expensive bag ever, priced at $20,000. Taking this collaboration a step further, Billy Reid has come up with a package that includes baseball mitts, handbags and some other accessories. All other products in the category apart from the bag are within the price ambit of Coach. The pebbled messenger bag and suede overnight bag have been priced around $800 while the leather wallet comes for $200. The portable leather trimmed bar set too has been priced at $600. However, this is not for the first time a brand like Coach has collaborated with a luxury designer. Previously Coach collaborated with Anna Sui. The price range was not on the higher end at that point and the costliest product came out for $1000. Coach has now decided to experiment a bit and get creative at the same time. This is evident by the kind and price range of products with the costliest of the lot going for $20,000. To make its presence unique in the market, Coach has brought on its panel the British accessory designer Stuart Vevers. Coach hopes to cash on the popularity of Stuart and come up with innovative products that will help it build its image in the luxury market.
