Born Oleg Vladimirovich Deripaska has an estimated net worth of $8.3 billion. Deripaska was born on January 2, 1968 in Dzerzhinsk, Nizhny Novgorod Oblast, Russia. This Russian business tycoon is known for his reclusive lifestyle and lives a pretty anonymous life with his wife and two kids in Moscow. His net worth which once stood at $ 28 billion USD in 2008 has significantly depreciated to $ 8.3 billion as of the latest estimates. However, this does not compromises his status as the head and sole owner of the world’s largest aluminum production company. He was a brilliant kid, always inclined towards academics.   After attending the School of Physics at Moscow State University where he graduated Summa Cum Laude he went on to attend the School of Economics at Plekhanov Academy of Economics, from which he graduated with honors. He capitalized on the growth in the metal industry and established a small metal trading company. A genius of a business mind that he has, Oleg used his profits to purchase shares of the Sayanogorsk Aluminum Smelter, which was the nation's third largest electrolysis plant. He quickly rose through the ranks at Smelter and became its director in 1994. He worked hard to make the plant one of the highest-grossing in the industry and implemented new technological developments to improve product quality as well as ensure environmental safety.   By 2000, Oleg's company had become one of the top ten aluminum producers in the world. He merged his group, Sibirsky, with other leading groups from around the world and formed United Company RUSAL, which is the world's largest producer of aluminum and alumina. He also included other companies in his portfolio like the investment firm Basic Element. Derispaska is also Vice President of the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Chairman of the Russian National Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce, and a Competitiveness and   Entrepreneurship Council member. Deripaska was named Businessman of the Year in 1999, 2006, and 2007 by Vedomosti, a business publication partner to the Financial Times and The Wall Street Journal.
