This is Winfrey's most famous mansion which she has aptly named The Promised Land. It is a 42-acre estate embraced with the true beauty of ocean and mountain views in Montecito, California. What add to its coziness are 10 fireplaces and the landscaping features a rose hybrid specially bred over five years by her landscaper. The unique feature of this mansion is a structure built for the express purpose of shielding Oprah from the infrequent Santa Barbara showers. Oprah's collection has grown to include scores of gorgeous coffee-table books. Winfrey ferociously guards the privacy of her home and doesn't allows shutterbugs to disturb the serenity of the place.

Oprah Winfrey has recently sells her swanky apartment in Chicago which was on the market for $2.8 million at a loss of $2.75 million. She bought the Streeterville condo in 2006 for a cool $5.6 million. Oprah had earlier listed the same home for $6 million in June 2008, however it did not fnd any takers.

Features: The apartment is spread over 5000 square feet and boasts two foyers (one inner, one grand), a formal dining room, a solarium, a butler's pantry, a wine room and three bedrooms. Since buying the place Oprah has never moved in there and prefers staying in her 15,000 square feet duplex nearby. Before listing the apartment, she was renting out the place for $15,000 per month. The mansion is one of the 13 1913 mansions designed by famous architect Benjamin Marshall.
