Princess Diana’s Dress up for auction at eBay
One of the Princess Diana’s gowns, which were auctioned at Christie’s in New York a decade ago, will be resold on eBay next week. A few months before Diana’s death, 79 of her gowns were auctioned off and three of them were purchased by the cable television network WE TV. Now, they have put one up for auction that will run through August 22. The elegant chiffon evening gown is designed by Catherine Walker and is pale blue in color. All proceeds from the sale will go to America’s Promise Alliance to help underprivileged children. The value of the gown, which the Princess wore to the Cannes Film Festival in 1987 and again to the opening of Miss Saigon in 1989, is more than $300,000. The current bid sits at US $125,000 at eBay. A replica of wedding dress of Diana was sold for a price of $175,000 back in 2005. So we can certainly expect this real gown to fetch a lot of money.
